The Business meeting was called to order at 2:48 p.m. by treasurer Virgil Johnson

Members present for business meeting: Mary Carol Cooper, Nancy Moore, Virgil Johnson, Andrea Johnson, Dave Stawicki, & Amy Stawicki

Minutes: Virgil read the November 2006 minutes aloud.
Dave made the motion to accept the November 2006 minutes, Mary Carol seconded. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report: Virgil gave Treasurer’s report.
Nancy had a question about the management of the checkbook. Do we need an in house way to monitor the account or not?

Fundraising: no report

Membership:
approximately 27 memberships paid for 2007

What happened with the idea of advertising through Sierra Club publications?

Virgil reported he typed up ad and sent to Lane Boldman, however it did not appear in the 2007 Cumberland Chapter Outings book

Discussed changing the “Spring Special” through local dealers (potential shops: Canoe KY, J&H & Phillip Galls) {buy a boat-get a free membership (April-June)} to a year round offer.

Virgil motioned, Dave seconded, motion passed.

How can we add contact information for potential new members to the web site?

Currently there is nothing on the EP website directing folks to a phone number, address, or email. Dave will add information about joining the EP Club.

Discussion about inappropriate links on the website. Dave will check on site.

Do we need to place a new order of Paddle Calls?

Inventory is low. Dave volunteered to create a ‘new’ edition and check into costs for printing.

Amy made a motion to allocate up to $300 in printing costs. Virgil seconded. Motion passed.

New Business
Mary Carol reported that our Annual meeting will be Sunday, November 11, 2007 @ Shakertown

Dave motion to adjourn, Nancy seconded. Business meeting ended at 3:36 pm

Launching fees to Mr. Southerland for creek access at The Forks- pay $200

Membership in KWA ($35) and ACA ($75)

New Business:
Donna suggested/motioned we approach the Sierra Club about placing our ad that was supposed to be in the Outings Book to instead be in a future Cumberland issue. $100 had been allocated at the March 2006 meeting
