Distance 5 miles;  Class 1-2 whitewater Some ripples, mandatory dam portage early in trip.  Best to have a white water boat (sit on top or have a skirt).  Can be done in open boat, but will have some bailing. Contact: Virgil Johnson email: canoester@hotmail.com

Leatherwood or Station Camp to Blue Heron, overnite camping

May 20-22, 2018

Distance 28 miles;  class 2 water, soem rapids Put in depends upon water level.  Will pick a primitive campsite along the way. Distance 11miles;  slow, moving water 5th annual guided introduction paddle trip specifically for those new to paddling, or new to Elkhorn creek.  Join experienced Elkhorn paddlers as we navigate one of Central KY’s treasures at the peak of spring paddling.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.  Bring your boat or rent from Canoe KY. Distance 12 miles;  slow, moving water There are 3 waterfalls cascading from springs down an 80 ft. bluff.  This is one of the most bio-diverse places in the nation because of the ferns and the clams.  We will meet in Elizabethtown at exit 94 in Burger King at 9 am. Licking River “Gourmet” Paddle

Deam Lake “Full Moon” Paddle

Lake paddle, still water Full moon paddle.  Meet at boat ramp parking lot at 8 pm.  Entry fee for vehicles $7 and boat ramp $5.  There may be other activities based on interest.  Also,  Moser’s will open their home to those out of town who want to camp.  Camping at Deam Lake not recommended.  It is not monitored. Distance 4-5 miles each day;  option to add 5 miles; Class 1-2 whitewater Dam release nearly half mile wide where you can pick your route.  Outfitter where you can rent rafts, sit on top kayaks.  Some travel Saturday morning, some camp Friday night.  Excellent camping facilities.  Share camp sites.
